In the first phase of the project which is scheduled to begin in June and last through October developers will strip to the bone the buildings and rebuild with quality finishing materials and Italian design fixtures, fittings, and furniture, he said. After that, work will begin on the 50 new hotel rooms, a phase that is expected to take two years maximum, he said. The new and refurbished rooms will be outfitted with natural materials ranging in the wood and sand colours, renowned Italian designer furniture, and natural fabrics in the colours of the sand and sea, according to EBR plans. The final phase will see EBR construct nine buildings, most of which will be two-storeys tall, for the additional 42 condos, Mr. Arduini said. The property management company will also subdivide the land surrounding the hotel area into 26 0.8-acre plots for the construction of luxury villas, he said.
